Explosive Safety Representative Course
In accordance with UN Ammunition Guidelines, the Head of Establishment can appoint an Explosive Safety Representative to manage the day to day activities relating to explosives safety. This person who is charged with supervising explosives safety and especially explosives licensing matters is to be suitable qualified by passing an appropriate course.
The standards for these courses are the National Occupational Standards for Explosives Substances and Articles (ESA). The course requires trainees to have a reasonable knowledge of explosives and explosives safety as well as a good knowledge of WOME.
The course will cover the following: Explosives Safety Policy and Planning, Implementation and Operation of explosives facilities and processes, Checking and Corrective Action, Management Review

- SAA Incineration techniques
- Deflagration techniques
- Dealing with specialist munitions including:
- White Phosphorous
- Cluster Munitions

- Clearance of booby-trapped munitions
